Staff mobility in Budapest

13 April 2026

Ms. Gaëlle DELAVOIE, Project Manager in the International Relations Office at ICES, undertook a staff mobility program at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest on March 19th and 20th, 2026.

A European program supporting administrative professionals

Staff mobility is an Erasmus+ program that allows administrative staff to spend a few days at a European partner university.

This type of mobility meets many purposes: to maintain and strengthen relationships with European counterparts, to develop new projects, and to share best practices regarding international mobility.

A long-standing partnership with Pázmány Péter Catholic University

The Catholic University of Vendée has collaborated with Pázmány Péter Catholic University for over 10 years, particularly with its Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, which welcomes approximately 7,000 students.

The universities have established a dual degree program allowing Hungarian and French students enrolled in the Master's program in International Relations to spend two semesters at each university and earn both degrees after completing their thesis.

The university's International Relations Office manages approximately 70 outgoing and up to 120 incoming student exchanges every year for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences alone.

This year, the university is hosting 11 students from ICES: 9 in the Bachelor of Political Science program and 2 in the Master's program in International Relations. Ms. Gaëlle Delavoie met them all during her visit and confirmed that they were satisfied by their ongoing mobility, both academically and personally.

This staff mobility provided an opportunity to reconnect with Sam Mohammad, a trusted contact (picture on the left), and to meet in person the rest of the local International Relations Office team, including the Director of International Relations, Tamás Hógenburg (on the right in the picture above).

There were numerous discussions, particularly regarding the details of the dual degree program and its catalog of courses taught in English. ICES is delighted to extend this strong partnership.
